The only difference of the scalp's skin from the rest of the body is the abundant number of large hair follicles, which are drained by the sebaceous glands. And precisely one of the most common problems of the scalp is the oil excess.  If the condition concurs with a scaly condition, the problem will be even bigger, as that oil excess will create yellow scales that will be sticking to the scalp.
These symptoms are both common to a oily dandruff problem, as well as to seborrheic dermatitis, but in reality they are different pathologies which we can distinguish with tha help of the following chart.

WHAT IS IT? Oily scaling of the scalp without significant redness or irritation, motivated by an excess of skin layer production. Located areas with redness, irritation and oily scale with a yellowish tone.
ORIGIN Oil excess - Increment of the microbial load - Bigger amount of skin layer production. Cause unkown. Can be due to hormonal, immune, nutritional, environmental, psycological factors...
Itchiness on the scalp.
Yellowish and oily scale.
Sebaceous over-secretion.
Itchiness on the scalp. Scratching can cause wounds.
Irritation, rashes and inflammation.
Scabs on the scalp.
Sebaceous over-secretion.
Hair that gets oily very quickly and scaly scalp (can cause hair loss).
WHO SUFFERS FROM IT? Can come at any age, but people with an excess in oil production are predominate.
Can come at any age, but predominates in:
  • Infants (between 2 and 12 weeks of life): cradle cap.
  • Adults, between 30 and 50 year olds.
  • Seniors.
It is not considered "disease", so there are only dermo-cosmetic treatments. Mild cases can be treated with dermo-cosmetics, but severe cases need medical prescription of shampoos with anti-fungals and keratolytic action.
BABÉ ANTI-OILY DANDRUFF SHAMPOO, with sebum-regulating action, that helps reduce and regulate oil production, as well as keratolytic action to achieve a "dragging" effect, eliminate skin scales and reduce the thickness of the scalp's layer.
Alternate with BABÉ EXTRA MILD SHAMPOO, which has a non-irritating and calming action to ease irritation and itchiness on the scalp.
